They are going to look just like this, only with a real lynx claw instead of a tooth, and cat hair in the bottle. The lynx claw will look similar to the one featured in this piece. All of this strung on a leather cord, with brown wooden focal bead.

I would like to take the time now to introduce you to my partner in this venture, and fur donor Merlin:
Click for Merlin )

Merlin was a rescue kitty, some years back. His previous owner was going to euthanize him unless someone took him. Merlin also sheds like crazy, so I decided to put his hair to good use, spread the word. Portion of proceeds from the sales of these pendants will go to a feline no-kill shelter in the area where I live (there are a great many, due to the close proximity of the city from where I live, and the sheer number of strays).

I'm asking $10 each, price includes shipping. I'll take 4 slots.

This post is public so feel free to spread the word.

Note that there is also still room for more Corvid Wallhangings, if people are still interested and would like to sign up.

Okay, here's the deal. They'll end up looking something like this, depending on the species. Two wings, with skull and deerskin loop for hanging. Made for totemic or animistic work.

Categories will show what I have available right now, and slots. $30 for each, price includes shipping within the U.S. For international folk, feel free to poke me about it. Estimated time frame for completion of commissions to be around mid to end of July. Payment will be due when the project is completed, but those interested are welcome to reserve their space now.

Note that I will not work with protected species (such as birds listed under the MBTA, the UK's Wildlife and Countryside Act, or CITES). What is reflected above is what I currently have available or is easily obtainable to me. None of what I obtain has ever been killed specifically for my art. I scavenge everything I have, and if they didn't come into my hands they'd be sitting in a landfill, rotting, or picked apart for fly tying. I donate a portion of proceeds from the sale of whatever I make to wildlife groups, namely Defenders of Wildlife, but I've been considering donating to the Audubon Society as of late as well.

Anyway, comment away if interested, and thank you. I should also note that this is also a part of an avian pathworking I've been doing...I find it interesting that the animal remains I seem to work closely with are canid and corvid (both are seen frequently together in the wild cooperating for food), or dog and bird (Yinepu and Djehuty, anyone?). The irony is not lost on me, and this was never originally an intentional pairing. Ha!
